ENDBAND CORE |
-
The narrow leather strip characteristically found in Islamic endbands over which the tiedowns are sewn and the secondary endband is woven.
- # In some later manuscripts the endband core was omitted. Also, in Islamic manuscripts from Southeast Asia, the endband core may commonly be composed of materials other than leather, such as small pieces of bamboo or strips of cloth.
